This post is all about college bedroom ideas.
1. Add a Floor-length Mirror
If you live in a small space and want to expand your room without going totally minimal, then get a floor-length mirror. Mirrors are great at making any room look bigger than it actually is.
This is one of my favorite tricks for a college bedroom. It literally changes the game. Plus, who doesn’t love full-length mirrors for putting together outfits and taking pictures with friends?

2. Use Bright Whites and Neutrals
If you really love that all white and neutral bedroom aesthetic, then this college bedroom idea is for you! I think bright neutral colors are amazing in any room, but especially a bedroom. It’s almost like having a clean canvas that you can spruce up with plants or pops of color.
An easy way to achieve this look is to buy white sheets, pillow cases, comforter, and blankets for your bed, put down a neutral-colored rug in your room, and place white or light-colored side tables next to your bed.

3. Make Your Wall into Storage
There is so much potential with the walls in your bedroom. You can do literally anything with your walls if you get creative, and it can really elevate your space.
The best best hack for utilizing your walls is to turn your wall space into storage. Use floating shelves, box shelves, corner shelves, or any other storage device you can find. Store decor, plants, or other items to free up space in your college bedroom and make your space look organized.

4. Choose a Lower Bed Frame
If you are living in an apartment bedroom, the space is probably smaller than what you are used to. Choosing a lower bed frame will help make your room look bigger than it actually is as opposed to choosing a taller bed frame.
Plus, lower bed frames are super trendy right now and can make your space look more modern and minimal than your traditional bed frame.

5. Use Under-bed Storage
However, if you aren’t a huge fan of the low bed frame look, then add some height to your bed frame (and storage while you’re at it)! This is a super easy tool to use if you have a lot of stuff or just need more storage space.
Instead of pushing everything under your bed and forgetting about it for the rest of the year, choose a bed frame that has built in under-bed storage or invest in some under-bed storage bags that you can easily organize your clothes, towels, and shoes in.

6. Baskets, Baskets, Baskets!
Another one of my favorite tricks for a college bedroom! Baskets are one of the easiest ways to store pillows, blankets, games, shoes, and toys in your room, and they come in tons of different shapes, sizes, and colors!
There is a basket for every style and size preference. Plus, sometimes baskets can come in sets of two or three, which is amazing when you want a coordinated look!

Again with the floor-length trend, I know, lol. But this trick really does work, especially in a smaller bedroom like a dorm or college apartment!
Curtains are extremely underrated for making your bedroom look beautiful and airy, especially if you can find floor-to-ceiling curtains in a bright neutral color. If you want one hack to make your room look Pinterest-worthy, then go with curtains. Plus, you gotta love that extra security they give to your windows!

You can arrange all of your hats in a pattern, or scatter them along with all of your other wall decor for a trendy boho look. Even if you only wear baseball caps, hang them on your wall to keep their shape and add character to your room.

11. Use Different Textures
Texture is one of those things that can really bring out the best in any room. Using different textures, whether it be on pillows, throw blankets, or wall art, will make your bedroom look professionally designed and will add tons of dimension to your space.
The best ways to use texture in your bedroom are throw pillows, quilts, wall decor, plants, blankets, and rugs. If you love a clean and simple look, then go for one textured item that you want to draw your eyes to (like pillows on your bed). If you’re into the boho aesthetic, then go for lots of texture everywhere!

Signage is playful, trendy, and super cute, so if that is the feel that you are going for, then check out some neon signs. Neon signs don’t have to be ultra expensive or huge. There are tons of affordable signs all over Amazon, so you’re sure to find one you love!

16. Create a Workspace
We all know how much you’ll be studying at college, which means you’ll probably need a workspace for when you don’t want to go to the library. Having a place in your room where you can go to focus and get stuff done is an absolute necessity when you are in college, and it’s great when doing those late night exam reviews.

17. Create a Makeup Desk
Similar to having a workspace, having a designated place where you can go to get ready for 8am classes (or at 11pm for those girls’ nights out) is an amazing way to make your college bedroom one you will want to spend a lot of time in.
Makeup desks are also a great way to keep all of your makeup and toiletries together and organized. Plus, when your roommate is in the bathroom forever, you can just go straight to your desk to get ready instead of waiting, lol!

Benches argent just for parks! They are also an amazing way to elevate your bedroom look and functionality. 19. Use Dressers as Side Tables
Extra storage is always a good thing when you’re in a small college bedroom. Using dressers as side tables is a great way to increase storage space as well as make your bed area look amazing.
This is one of the best college bedroom ideas to make your room look like you know what you’re doing. Plus, the filled space between the top and bottom of the dresser that you wouldn’t normally get with a regular end table makes your space look like it was professionally designed!
